Please welcome Rick Farmiloe to Toon Con!

Raised in Santa Rosa, California, Rick Farmiloe initially moved to Southern California in 1978 to attend the California Institute of the Arts, but was offered a job at Filmation Studios. After accepting the job, he began working on many different projects such as Fat Albert, Mighty Mouse, Quacula, Tom & Jerry, Zorro, Sport Billy and Flash Gordon. 

In 1981, he was offered a job as an Assistant Animator at Walt Disney, where his first feature project was, The Black Cauldron. After completing this project, Rick was promoted to Animator and where he animated on such movies as, The Great Mouse Detective and Oliver & Company as well as “Disney Renaissance” films The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. 

After Aladdin, Rick left Disney to pursue other opportunities, and was subsequently hired by Jeffrey Katzenberg to be the first animator for Dreamworks where he was a Directing Animator on The Prince of Egypt, and storyboard artist for Shrek.

Rick also helped animate the feature films of Curious George and The Simpsons.

Guest Announcement Diane Pershing

The amazing Diane Pershing will be making a special, limited appearance at Toon Toon-Con from 10 AM – 2 PM!

Over the years, Diane Pershing has had lead cartoon characters in projects such as Dale Arden in Flash Gordon, Pearl Pureheart in The Adventures of Mighty Mouse, Netossa in She-Ra: Princess of Power, and Dynak X in Defenders of the Earth. However, she is most notable for her iconic portrayal as Poison Ivy in Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Gotham Girls, and Justice League.

Since graduating UCLA with a BA in Theater Arts, Diane as been lucky enough to earn her living in many areas of the entertainments business, beginning with years on the road touring as a singer and theatre actress. But once she settled down in Los Angeles, she began doing voiceovers–cartoons, commercials, narrations, network promos, etc.

Overlapping her VO career, the years have also seen her finding success as a TV writer, romance novelist, film critic and radio disc jockey. Today, Diane counts herself extremely lucky to be someone who gets to work in an industry she loves; how many can say that?

Guest Announcement Rikki Simons

Rikki Simons is a voice actor, writer, and artist. He is most famous for being the voice of the robot in a dog suit, GIR from Invader ZIM. As a writer he is known for the science fiction and fantasy novel Hitherto a Lion. Original illustrated books and comics that he created with Tavisha-Wolfgarth-Simons include Super Information Hijinks: Reality Check!Ranklechick and His Three Legged Cat, ShutterBox, and now The Trinkkits. He is also a background painter in animation, most noted for his color design onInvader ZIM.
